The Air Quality Management District has warned Los Angeles that today is a moderately unhealthy air day! So don’t burn wood in your fireplace!
“Wood smoke contains hundreds of contaminants including PM2.5, a pollutant linked to increased emergency room visits and hospitalizations, as well as increased risk of heart attacks and early deaths.”
“Residents living in the South Coast Air Basin are not permitted to burn wood in their fireplaces tomorrow due to unhealthy air quality forecast by the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD).
The South Coast Air Basin includes all of Orange County and the non-desert portions of Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Riverside counties. Tomorrow is a no-burn day for all residents in these areas.”
