New Aquatic Therapy For Children With Autism

By September 30, 2013Physical Therapy

from Aquatic Therapy For Children With Autism story by 11 Alive, the Fox affiliate in Atlanta, GA

We are in the midst of developing some aquatic therapy programs and one of those is designed for children with autism. Families who have children with autism note that aquatic therapy in warm water pools yields positive results because it helps them to relax. Therapy in the water can help children who have sensory disorders.

One of the barriers to families who could benefit from this therapy is the high cost and sometimes insurance does not cover it. We at Bright STAR are working on a program that is affordable and beneficial to patients who need it. Please call us at (818) 343-3900 to find out if our new program, Splash!, will be right for your loved one.
