Plagiocephaly and Torticollis can be TREATED!

By August 29, 2011General

Many of us have heard about the 7 month old baby who was thrown from a parking garage by his mother. We are saddened that the little boy has passed. Baby Noe was diagnosed with Plagiocephaly and Torticollis. Both ailments are normal, perfectly correctable orthopedic muscle spasm in babies. To treat plagiocephaly, a helmet is worn because a baby’s bones are so soft and they spend so much time lying on one side. Wearing a corrective helmet makes head perfectly round.

Torticollis is essentially a neck kink – similar to that neck kink you may have experienced waking up in the morning. This is correctable muscle spasm in the neck muscle.

Parents should not become discouraged. At Bright STAR, we offer free consultations to help your child get on the road to recovery. Torticollis and Plagiocephaly are both correctable ailments. Call our office today to schedule a consultation. For your convenience, Bright STAR has offices in the San Fernando Valley and Santa Clarita Valley.
