Universally Accessible Playgrounds

By April 26, 2013Pediatrics

At Bright STAR Physical Therapy we are big advocates of play for all children.  In fact, we even refer to our pediatric treatments as play time with our specialists!  Playgrounds are a great place for children to grow and learn from playing side-by-side with other children.  Shane’s Inspiration is an amazing organization that builds Universally Accessible Playgrounds around the world.  Named after Shane Alexander who died from Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Shane’s Inspiration Playgrounds provide children of all abilities the opportunity to play side-by-side.  In 2000 Shane’s Inspiration at Griffith Park was built making it the first Universally Accessible Playground in the Western United States.  Today, Shane’s Inspiration has developed over 40 playgrounds across the world.

Looking for something fun and free to take your kids to this weekend? Why not check out one of the Shane’s Inspiration Playgrounds in the San Fernando Valley!
